Happy Tolkien Week, everyone! In case you’re wondering, Tolkien Week always falls the week of//before September 22nd! What can you do to celebrate such a momentous occasion?
>> Dust off an old copy of The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, The Silmarillion, or any other Tolkien book you fancy!
>> Watch countless hours of The Lord of the Rings DVD extended edition movies!
>> Eat yummy hobbity food! Think lots of bacon, eggs, veggies, cheeses, and tea!
>> Watch the trailer for the first movie of The Hobbit Trilogy! (I’ve watched it like five times and I STILL cannot get enough of it! SO AWESOME!)
>> Go on a hike and pretend you’re in Middle Earth on your way through the Shire, Lonelands, or Misty Mountains!
>> Start planning out your costume (YES, you heard me) for attending the premier of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in theatres on December 14th! WOOHOO!
>> Read a biography about J.R.R. Tolkien. That man was FASCINATING! You won’t regret it, I promise!
>> Write a short story based on the world Tolkien created! Share it on your site//blog!
>> Spend some time looking at this GORGEOUS concept art for Middle Earth!
There you have it! Ten wonderful ways to celebrate the life and stories of J.R.R. Tolkien! If you’ve never read any of his books, WHO ARE YOU!? WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? Get thee to a bookseller or library IMMEDIATELY and start with The Hobbit! I mean it!
