I like doing these fun lists with pictures! Five fantasy books I’m planning on reading this fall include (but are not limited to):

>> The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien — I’ve never read this one all the way through and this year is my YEAR to get that goal accomplished! I found it on one of my Goodreads groups as a challenge. I hope to read it by winter.

>> Son of the Shadows by Juliet Marillier — I’ve read this book several times already, but I read Daughter of the Forest  (for like the billionth time) last winter, so I’d like to read the second book in Juliet Marillier’s epic series, Sevenwaters, this fall//winter. 🙂 I ADORE Marillier’s Sevenwaters books. They are my absolute favorite of ALL time.

>> Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett — In keeping with my recent Terry Pratchett obsession, I’ve got to read this book soon. I adore stories about The Watch.

>> Martin the Warrior by Brian Jacques — My husband and I love Redwall books, so we decided to start reading this one out loud to each other at nighttime. We may not make it through the whole thing, but I thought it was a fun goal. Hopefully we’ll be able to make it through the whole thing!

>> Lord of the Isles by David Drake — I stumbled across this book in one of our local, used bookstores and was intrigued by its description. I’ve never read anything by David Drake before, but I’ve heard great things.

So there you have it! Five of my fall fantasy book reads for 2012! Can’t wait to jump into them! So many books, so little time! I LOVE to read. All writers should, P.S..

Thanks for stopping by!

  • The Silmarillion is fantastic. A dozen great stories all intertwined. Pity you’ve waited to so long to read it.

    • Yeah, I know! It is crazy. I should have read it long ago.
