I love making up words. It’s just something that brings a smile to my face. Literarity? Pretty sure that’s not a real word, but it sure does sound like one, huh? It may actually be one, but it is super obscure if it is. All growing up, I was fascinated by words. Not just English words, but Japanese, Spanish, German, Korean, Chinese….(on and on)…words. I was always stringing them together (read: talking my head off) every chance I could get. I thought it would be fun to display some of my favorite quotes for you guys, since I love words so much!
“Life is infinitely stranger than anything which the mind of man can invent.”
“Not all those who wander are lost.”
“You don’t have a soul. You are a soul. You have a body.”
“Some humans would do anything to see if it was possible to do it. If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying ‘End-of-the-World-Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH’, the paint wouldn’t even have time to dry.”
~Terry Pratchett, Theif of Time
“My mind rebels at stagnation. Give me problems, give me work…”
“Preach the Gospel at all times. When necessary, use words.”
~St. Francis of Assisi
“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: ‘What! You too? I thought I was the only one.'”
“A children’s story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children’s story in the slightest.”
“I don’t know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.”
“When you have eliminated all which is impossible, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.”
“Stories of imagination tend to upset those without one.”
“A library is infinity under a roof.”
~Gail Carson Levine
