If you’ve been paying attention to my Nine Nights of Narnia series over the past week, you’ll know by now that my absolute favorite Narnia novel is The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I’ve read it, watched it, and loved it over and over again all these years, but what about the other Narnia novels? How do they measure up in my eyes? Well, I love all of them, but there are several that didn’t make it on my “favorites” list as a child. I’d like to reread these sometime soon. They are (in no particular order):
>> The Silver Chair
>> The Last Battle
>> Prince Caspian
I don’t remember much at ALL about The Silver Chair, but it’s my husbands favorite Narnia novel and he persists that it is very, very good. I need to reread it and see what all the hubbub is about. As far as The Last Battle goes, I read and reread the ending SEVERAL times growing up. I LOOOOOOOVED the end, but I don’t actually remember very much about the beginning aside from the fact that I didn’t really care for it. I need to revisit it. As far as Prince Caspian goes, my need to reread it actually stems from watching the Walden Media version of the story. I HATED (read LOATHED) what they did with Peter in that film. They made him a nasty snot and I’m fairly positive he wasn’t like that in the book. I want to reread it to set the record straight.
What about you? What’s a Narnia novel (or two) that you’d like to revisit due to previous dislike or because you don’t remember much about it? I’d love to hear!
More Nine Nights of Narnia goodness…
