OMG! OMG! OMG! *Breathes in. Breathes out.* AHHHHH! It’s finally here! I have been waiting for this movie to come out for SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long. Okay. I’m a little excited, can’t you tell? I adore J.R.R. Tolkien and his stories so very, very much. I am terrifically excited about seeing the movie today with my husband and brother-in-law. It is going to be the most epic movie ever!

If you’ve seen it already, no spoilers! We don’t want to ruin it for everyone else, precioussssss…

So, the Sherwins are off to the theatre to see the first installment of the movie adaptation to the beloved book, The Hobbit. I read the book for the first time as a child. I didn’t like it. At all. Then, I read The Lord of the Rings and became obsessed with all things Tolkien. After reading the trilogy, I went back and read The Hobbit and adored it. I suppose age, fangirl-like-obsession with The Lord of the Rings, and a better understanding of Tolkien’s style was all that was needed for me to be insanely excited about rereading the prequel.

I have plans to reread the book after seeing the movie and then I’ll do a fun combination post containing a book review and movie review all in one! Be excited!

We’re off to see The Hobbit! The wonderful Bilbo of Baggins….

Happy Saturday.

  • Totally awesome, my son went to go see the Hobbit with some of his friends.

    • Oh my goodness, it was SO amazing. I cannot wait to share my thoughts on it in a post sometime soon! LOVED it. I hope your son enjoyed it!

I tried to win tickets to surprise my husband, but now it looks like I’ll just have to buy some 🙂

I’ve never read any of the books, but I did really enjoy the LOTR trilogy when my husband made me watch them (in HS my brother tried to get me to watch them with him but I thought they were SO boring).

    Hope you enjoyed it!

    • Haha, well, I personally think the movie is well worth the ticket price. I thought it was AMAZING. I came in with extraordinarily high expectations and I enjoyed it above and beyond what I expected. SO, SO good.
