Today, my friend Kate and I took a day trip up to Chattanooga, TN! We hung out at McKay, ate tasty Japanese food at a local place, got tasty desserts at Rembrandt’s and had a terrific time! While we were at McKay, you know I went nuts on some books! Since McKay is a used books and media store, Kate and I were able to trade in old books in exchange for store credit! Because Kate is an AMAZING lady and is getting ready for a big move, she let me have all her store credit so she didn’t have to take any extra books home. I totally accepted. Wanna see what I got?
I was SO excited to get these books. I have never read The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins, so I am pretty stoked to now own the hard-copies of all three. I’ve heard phenomenal things about them, so I can’t wait to dive in! I got Insomnia by Stephen King for the Philosopher since he’s been wanting that exact title. He’s a big Stephen King fan. Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin has definitely been on my to-read list for a while. If I like this first edition in the series, I’ll give the others a shot. In addition to the treasures I scored at McKay, Kate let me have her Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, her Naked by David Sedaris, and a gorgeous, illustrated edition of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Not gonna lie. I’m pretty excited about these treasure tomes.
In non-book related news, the Japanese restaurant–Sushi Nabe–that Kate recommended was fabulous and I may have…sort of…drunk an entire pot of green tea by myself while we were there…
If you’re in the southeastern U.S. and you have a chance to hang out in Chattanooga, TN, at any point, you should totally take up the chance! There are so many great places to explore! If you go, be sure to drop by McKay. You can score a seriously awesome haul at that place. Bring in old textbooks, paperbacks, hardbacks, CDs, DVDs, and pretty much any other type of media and you can acquire a pretty sweet deal in store credit. Then, use that “free” awesomeness to find some precious literary treasures!
I hope you all had a terrific Thursday and that you’re looking forward to a great Friday tomorrow! If it’s snowing in your area, stay warm and snuggly!
