They look just like little bars of GOLD don’t they!? I’m participating in a blog hop today sponsored by M. Pax, Laura Eno, Brinda Berry, and Ciara Knight. The topic? You guessed it, CHOCOLATE! Most of us just drool thinking about it. What does chocolate have to do with writing or indie authorship, you might ask?

Happy thoughts and good feelings, people.ย One of my favorite ways to reward myself at the end of a long work week is to indulge in a few pieces of my favorite chocolate: Hershey’s Extra Creamy Milk Chocolate with Toffee Almond! They are soooooo good. It’s myย absoluteย favorite type of chocolate. I just came across them this past summer.

Funny story actually. So, my husband and I vacationed with his parents this summer down at a house in Florida. It was a gorgeous setting and my sweet mother-in-love (we don’t have “in-laws” in my family ;-)) packed tons of tasty goodies for us to enjoy while we were there. One night, I developed a bit of a sweets craving and started rooting around in the pantry. What did I find? A whole bag of these tasty looking morsels. I’d never had them, so I though…”Why not give them a shot?” About two days later…I’d downed almost the entire bag. One night, my dear mother-in-love asked from the kitchen, “Who’s been eating my chocolate?”

I felt like Goldilocks after eating the porridge. I admitted that I had been the one scarfing down the little golden treasures, expressing my apologies that I didn’t know they weren’t for everyone…

We laughed so much about that! I felt horrible, but she thought it was funny. Now, whenever I get low, I restock my house candy bowls with the stuff. It is amazing. If you haven’t tried them, you HAVE to.

That’s my favorite chocolate, people! Check out the others’ stories about chocolate on the blog hop!

  • Cool that you have a mother-in-love. Only another woman would get the chocolate stash thing and forgive another woman. ๐Ÿ™‚ Great story. Thanks for joining in the bloghop.

    • Heehee. Thanks for stopping by, Mary! Thanks for hosting such a fun event!

  • Well, chocolate is about as good as gold so it might as well be wrapped up to look like a bunch of gold bars. Sounds like you have a very nice mom-in-law.

  • Mother-in-love + Goldilocks + Hersheys Xtra-Creamy Choccies = Wonderful Memories… it doesn’t get better than this!

  • I don’t like chocolate, but that’s an endearing story!
