WIP Wednesday Graphic banner

Happy WIP Wednesday, peeps! It has been a SUPER busy couple of weeks. I’ve had tons of day-job work, some sickness issues, and general life business going on, BUT thankfully I’ve also been hard at work on a secret project. One of the hardest things about 2016 so far as been prioritization. Because I have a day job and don’t have a super great handle on marketing stuff, I’ve brought in some outside help to encourage me in the right directions and to help me prioritize appropriately. I’m great at writing books FAST, but I’m not so great at organizing the bag-o-cats that includes: deadlines, marketing plans, market research, publishing and preorder deadlines, etc. I am SO glad to say that I now have some help with these sorts of things and I have big, big dreams for my books in 2016 and beyond.

Current Projects:

>Night Bells is currently getting its first beta read. When I published in 2012, I didn’t even know what a beta reader was. This book is definitely one of my babies, because it was the very first novel I finished and published, but it has some real problems that need addressing. It is with my beta and once I get it back, I anticipate some very real updates for its second edition. Information about the second edition will be heading your way soon.

>Ancestors & Immortals Book One is currently with beta readers. I am working on Book 2, but I have set it on the back burner while I work on my secret project.

>The Secret Project…Is by its own name, SECRET. But! I can tell you that it will be within my YA Fantasy genre and I am ridiculously excited about working on it. My goal (currently) is to write all the books in the series before talking of dates and stuff, so it may be a little while, but I’ll try and throw some teasers your way as I go about my first drafts.

Reading:

>I’ve read 9 books so far in 2016. Not too shabby when I think about how crazy busy I am. I am ANXIOUSLY awaiting Water’s Wrath by Elise Kova and cannot WAIT to find out what happens to Vhalla and Aldrik!

>I am currently reading The Blade’s Memory by Lindsay Buroker and The Assassin’s Curse by Sarah J. Maas (yep. I’ve totally jumped on the Throne of Glass train…and I’m loving it so far).

Playing:

>I’ve been hard at work catching up on my tower defense gaming with Defense Grid. I LOOOOVE me some tower defense gaming. For reals.

>I’ve also been playing through Skyrim again. I never finished the Thieves Guild chain and would love to see where that ends up. In my last Skyrim play through, I was a hardcore Dark Brotherhood assassin and also pursued the Companions chain.

My hubby has me trying out Vermintide and so far I’m really enjoying it! It’s a style I don’t normally play, but I’ve been enjoying it. Hubs and I are also playing Diablo 3 together when we have the time.

Watching:

>I’ve been breaking with my KDrama and anime kick right now with a binge-watching of House MD. I freaking LOVE that show, man.

What are you working on, reading, playing, and watching right now? I’d love to hear and geek out! I’m also always up for great recommendations, so let me know in the comments if you have seen any great KDramas or anime you want to recommend. Or books. Always with the books…

** Come hang out with me on Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and Facebook! I’m super chill most of the time and love connecting with readers and fellow YA fantasy folks. Also, I’m now on Snapchat @lmsherwin, so come follow me if you like dorkiness and general geekery. Also, if you want to be the first to hear about book news and potential exclusive offers, sign up for my newsletter!**

Skyrim. Never finished Skyrim. And since the move, i don’t have an Xbox available. Hmm. Have to fix that.

    • Such a fabulous game. For reals. I have spent some serious time in Elder Scrolls (Oblivion and Skyrim). I still want to go back through and play Morrowind one of these days, but I am waiting for an updated mod version that has better graphics. The old graphics are very distracting for me.
